Freshfields Village - Located at the entrance to the island, just off the traffic circle. This shopping area is a terrific place to spend the afternoon - whether you are there to pick up some bagels for breakfast, or to shop for that elegant new outfit to wear out for dinner at the Sanctuary. It has all the basics, such as a deluxe grocery store (Newton Farms - why this grocery store even comes with its own concierge!), a bank (Bank of America), a real estate office and a pharmacy, as well as many other wonderful shops. Something for everyone in your family.

Farmers Market - Held every Tuesday in the summer. Located within the square at the Freshfields Village. Here you can shop for everything from cantelope to frilly purses! Talk with the vendors - most of them have either grown or crafted their own wares. Pick up a bag of Fresh Kettle Korn!

The Shops at The Sanctuary - Seven stores at the island's 4-star hotel. Stores include an art gallery, a pro shop, a gourmet shop, a logo shop as well as a few clothing boutiques. Very pricey - but well worth exploring!

The Straw Market - Located just down Shipwatch Drive from the villas. It has everything from resort shopping to ice cream (Scoopers). You can't leave Kiawah without touring the shops!

Bohicket Marina - More stores that greatly resemble "The Straw Market", but you'll also find a great place to tour after sunset - great views of the Marina, also there's a couple great restaurants - "The Privateer" and "Rosebank Farms Cafe".

The General Store - This is located right next to the Main Kiawah Island Security Gate - It’s the place everyone goes to for your essentials - beer, chips, fried chicken (Delicious! Perfect for your picnics!), suntan lotion, beach supplies, etc. They also have gas pumps.
